Inauguration of Mankenberg's office in Hangzhou/China
Mr Axel Weidner, managing director of Mankenberg GmbH, was part of the economic delegation of the prime minister of the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, Mr Peter Harry Carstensen, travelling to the Chinese province of Zhejiang from 09th through 16th October 2010. The primary goal of the Schleswig-Holstein delegation was to enhance activities in China, to intensify new and existing contacts and to promote cooperation in economy and research. In addition, the world exhibition EXPO in Shanghai was visited.
During a visit to the Schleswig-Holstein Business Center of the WTSH (Business Development and Technology Transfer Corporation) in Hangzhou the prime minister unveiled a commemorative plaque together with Axel Weidner in memory of Mankenberg becoming the 125th member of the Business Center. With its involvement in the office Mankenberg expects to ameliorate communication and to provide a ready service for the customers in the Chinese market.
A focal point of Mankenberg’s sales activities is to boost export. The present export rate of abt. 30 % is planned to increase to 40 % within the next five years, and to enhance awareness of the Mankenberg brand. With its abt. 1.35 billion inhabitants China has become one of the largest national economies of the world and offers great opportunities for Mankenberg valves, especially for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and for power stations.
Mankenberg has been certified as a supplier for nuclear installations on an international level as per the IAEA 50-C-Q standard and, therefore, can supply valves and tailor-made solutions for nuclear industries worldwide. However, the HAF 604 admission of the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) is required for supplies in the Chinese market, for which the application procedure is presently in process.
During recent years Mankenberg has established contacts with various partners and customers in China. The direct contact to Chinese partners has been valuable, especially through the native Chinese engineer Jing Yuan-Töpperwien who is working in the Lübeck head office. In addition Mankenberg’s web page has been extended by the Chinese language.
